Miami
After a nights break in the rather unpleasant capital city of San Jose, it’s off to the airport for a pleasant 3pm hop over the Mexican Gulf. Uneventful but we did have a 13 dollar burger. Extortionate! Anyway touched down in the US of A and prepared for the infamous Customs shenanigans. 1 1/2 hours later we’re out and hop on a bus to South Beach. It’s then we realise neither of us has access to a map so we ask the bus driver but she has no idea what we’re trying to ask her. So we hop off where we think is right. It is. Check in to the seedy hostel with no one staying there under the age of 35 except us.
Up and off in the morning for some shopping at Publix and Best Buy. We wanted sandwiches for lunch but being American it only had half a kilo of ham and a 2ft baguette. That’s what I ate. Dhani had some tuna. Many recces pieces bought we headed back for a swim. The most amount of people we’ve seen in two months as all of Miami had descended to the beach for a Saturday afternoon dip. Headed back for some free supper?! Then off to see the new Jennifer Lawrence film. Pretty good.
Following morning we decide to go shopping (again) and after wandering up and down the outdoor mall and having bought nothing we go for lunch. Opting for a new supermarket, Trader Joes delivers and then some. Salad and sandwich for lunch as well as a peach and some strawbs and we buy orange chicken for tea (cos the free one is shit). In the afternoon we head down to South Pointe to watch the cruise ships leave port and sweat out asses off in the afternoon sunshine. Chicken was nice and then an early night.
Check out at 11 this morning. Currently 7pm at MIA and still haven’t got on the flight. Had to fill the time so we watched another film. Asteroid City it was good. Before heading over here. Going to try grab some sleep on the plane. (D has a festival to get to the following day!). Before we touch back down tomorrow morning…
Tarah!
Charlie
